What it is
Tadalafil — a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor, originally developed by ICOS and marketed by Eli Lilly. FDA-approved for erectile dysfunction and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Distinguished from sildenafil (Viagra) by a substantially longer half-life (~17 hours), which is why it is dosed less frequently and is often nicknamed ‘the weekend pill’.
