What it is
Clenbuterol is a long-acting selective beta-2 adrenergic agonist, originally developed as a bronchodilator (asthma treatment). It remains approved for human use in some countries (not in the U.S.) and is also used as a veterinary bronchodilator.
Use as a livestock growth promoter is banned in many jurisdictions due to meat-residue concerns. Beyond bronchodilation, beta-2 agonism produces mild thermogenic and lipolytic effects.
