What it is
Nandrolone is 19-nortestosterone — testosterone with the methyl group at carbon 19 removed. It is one of the oldest commercial anabolic steroids, originally produced by Organon under the brand name Deca-Durabolin.
Nandrolone has a stronger anabolic-to-androgenic ratio than testosterone. It aromatizes to estradiol only weakly (about 20% the rate of testosterone) but produces other progestogenic metabolites.
The decanoate ester gives a long half-life suitable for weekly or biweekly injection.
